"My wife and I had our first child, a son named Luke, in September 2008.  I wanted to celebrate his arrival with something special so

I contacted Scotty to make 2 custom calls to someday pass on to Luke.  When opening day in Ontario came around I was set-up on

a field edge near a corn field.  I had hen dekes out in front of me.  I saw two turkeys appear about 200 yards away.  They were 2 longbeards!

Despite seeing the decoys they seemed to have no interest in coming my way, so I pulled out the pot call Scott made me and sent a

series of cuts and excited yelps their way.  The birds gobbled in unison and started walking in.  Every 25 yards or so I would hit them

with a cluck from the pot call nice and soft and they would gobble their heads off.  I dropped the bigger of the two birds when he came

out of full strut at 30 yards.  He was over 20 pounds with 1 " spurs and a 9" beard.  This was a very special hunt for me because I called

in that bird with a call that Scotty made and will belong to my son some day.  Scotty and I spent months designing the calls for Luke and

they are my most prized possessions now.  The effort he put into the calls with David (the box call carver) was testament to the fact that

Scotty is not just out there to make a few bucks. He is an artist and a great person.  I am proud to have killed a wild turkey with the calls

he made me.  The sounds that come out of the calls not only impress my other Canadian hunting buddies, but the turkeys

we are chasing too!" ... Mark Cleland, Ontario, Canada

"During a recent turkey hunt the versatility of your call was tremendous.  I like a call that sounds good when used loud as well as down to ultra soft.

Recently I took a nice gobbler using your call on an extremely windy day.  I located the gobbler with loud yelps.  After working him to within 75 yards, I lured

him in to less than 50 yards using yelps and clucks that were so soft I could barely hear them while using the call.  The wind was blowing from me to

him but he reacted each time I called so I knew he was hearing just fine.  Thanks for the wide range of tones, both loud and soft, that your calls have.

They definitely add up to success.  I’ve been hunting for 40 years and am thoroughly impressed with your turkey calls!" ... Mike Smith, Henderson, Kentucky

"My Dad is nearing retirement and doesn't have many hobbies. He had never hunted turkeys before so last Christmas I bought him a bunch of gear to get him out

into the woods.  I took him out for his first hunt to a nearby farm that I had just gotten permission on.  The farm is absolutely full of turkeys and after scouting

the farm a bit I knew where I wanted to set up for my first hunt there.  We snuck in 30 minutes before legal light and set up the decoys in a power line cut.

I sent out a series of tree yelps with my custom pot call that Scotty made.  4 or 5 gobblers responded.. all coming from different directions.  The birds kept

on gobbling on the roost a bunch so I kept pretty quiet as I didn't want them all to call every hen in the county to them.  At sunrise I started yelping at 10 minute

intervals on the pot call and got gobbles back but the birds were all 200 to 300 yards away and holding there.  I then pulled out my custom box call

(with the father-son scene carved into one side and Canadian Maple Leaves on the other) and hit them with a loud series of yelps and cuts.

I got a response from down the power line a ways.  I looked over and my dad's eyes were wide with excitement. I waited a few minutes and hit the call again.

The response was closer now (I figured 100 yards out) so I switched to the pot call Scotty made me because I love the soft calls it can make.  I told my Dad

to get ready to shoot because I was going to seal the deal with this bird. Two longbeard strutters appeared about 80 yards out.  I decided that I wasn't going

to shoulder my gun because I was worried about getting busted and it was more important to get my Dad his first turkey.  I clucked the birds into 25 yards and

my Dad made a great shot to drop the bigger of the two turkeys.  I was so excited to have called that bird into range with the "heritage" calls Scotty made me and

get my Dad his first turkey- It was like having 3 generations a part of the hunt (My Dad, me and Luke).  The bird had a thick 10" beard and 1" spurs.

It weighed over 22lbs for sure.  A great hunt and a great kill using both of the calls Scotty made for Luke's birth.  Classic!" ... Mark & Gregg Cleland, Ontario, Canada

"Herman Hudman and I were hunting in Cherokee county, Alabama (Late Season).  I pulled out my pecan Crimson Tide pot call

that Scotty made me and pulled this bad boy in.

It was a double bearded Tom.  One beard is 11-1/4" and the other is 7".  3/4" spurs and he weighed 20lbs.

Scotty you make a fine call son" ... Larry Bryant, Sardis, Alabama

"Scotty, Your call really did the trick! I called this bird in for Gary Merriman, which was his first turkey.  20 lbs., double bearded, 7/8" spurs.

It was killed in Etowah County, Alabama on opening day, using my new box call.  Thanks!" ...Grant Skaggs, Gadsden, Alabama

"As it happened this morning, tomorrow will be one year exactly that I killed a turkey sitting in the same exact place and the bird flew down from the same tree.

There were 2 Toms together gobbling their heads off at your call!  Beautiful bird. 10+ in. beard; 1-1/8" spurs." ...Grant Skaggs, Gadsden, Alabama
